Heat exchanger and separator combined in one compact unit
The Vahterus combined evaporator is a joint development by the R&D teams of Vahterus and Wijbenga. This “combined” heat exchanger integrates the droplet separation system with a flooded evaporator, resulting in an exceptionally efficient and compact solution.

The combined unit is suitable for cooling liquids and gases, as well as for condensing gases—for example, as a cascade condenser in CO₂ and NH₃ systems. On the plate side, the unit can be configured as a multi-pass system for added flexibility.
