Periodic draining and refilling of oil in NH₃ systems is a time-consuming and costly task that also involves safety risks. The WITT BDP system ensures that refrigerant oil is fully automatically returned from the system to the compressors. When the amount of returned oil equals the oil discharged via the oil separator, the oil management remains balanced. This reuse of refrigerant oil provides a sustainable and efficient solution.
Operation
The BDP fills with oil through a 1" inlet opening. With the optional IFM sensor, the filling level of the BDP can be detected, triggering a return action. By supplying discharge gas, the internal valve closes and the pressure in the BDP is increased. Subsequently, the oil can be returned to the compressors in a controlled manner via an oil filter and control valve.
The use of an optional DWR heat exchanger is recommended to evaporate any residual refrigerant and thus protect the compressor.
The BDP is available in three sizes. The choice depends on the oil discharge rate of the compressors, the type of oil used, and the size and capacity of the system.
